The largest political youth movement in the Netherlands

JFVD is the youth wing of Forum voor Democratie. With over 4,000 members, we run a full calendar every year: lectures, trainings, city trips, conventions, biannual galas, our annual summer camp in France and our annual congress. Our own teams organise all of it, from logistics to media.

We are also the beating heart of our movement. Six Members of Parliament, past and present, came up through JFVD, our parliamentary leader among them, and more than 135 JFVD members are politically active in municipalities across the country. Nearly a third of all FVD's elected representatives are JFVD members. We prepare the next generation of leaders for our country.

May 2025, Amsterdam

Summer Gala

Black tie in a historic building in the centre of Amsterdam: a three-course dinner, speeches, an open bar and a party until the small hours. That evening we welcomed guests from the United States, active in circles around the White House.

Exclusively for members, and sold out well in advance.

Summer 2025, France

Summer Camp

Every summer we take our members to a château in the French countryside for a full week. Mornings are for lectures and debate, afternoons for sport and competition, evenings for formal dinners and campfires.

We organise the whole camp ourselves, from transport and catering to the printed day programme. It is where lifelong friendships in our movement begin.

Annual Congress

The high point of our association year: a full day of speeches, debate and music at a medieval castle. In 2026 we welcomed guest speakers from allied youth movements across Europe, alongside our own MPs and party leadership.

The congress is where our members set the course of the association, and where new members find out what JFVD is about.

Christmas Gala

We close every year in style. Our annual Christmas Gala brings hundreds of members together at a castle: black tie, dinner, speeches and dancing deep into the night. In 2025 it doubled as a celebration of our movement's election result.

History

JFVD was founded on 30 March 2017. Within hours, more than a thousand young people had signed up, something no political youth organisation in the Netherlands had seen before.

In December 2019 we hosted a conference of conservative youth organisations from across Europe, the start of our international network. Since 2021 we have published De Dissident, our magazine of interviews, essays and reports, and our podcast Koortsdroom Café reaches an audience well beyond our own membership. That same year Freek Jansen, our founder and first chairman, became the first JFVD member elected to the House of Representatives. Today six Members of Parliament, past and present, came up through JFVD, and the association counts over 4,000 members.

Mission

JFVD is the home of young people on the right who want real change in the Netherlands. We see how mass immigration is changing our streets, towns and cities beyond recognition, how the Dutch have been talked into a sense of guilt about their own history, and how an ever larger government taxes more and interferes further in everyday life, while the bill for climate policy lands with ordinary households.

We want something else. Our mission is to reconnect young people with their identity, history, culture, language, community, nature and family; to build a community of like-minded people; to break the political cartel that has governed the Netherlands for decades; to scout, train and bring forward young talent for Forum voor Democratie; and to work for the continuation of European civilisation. We stand for direct democracy and for a government that serves its own citizens, with Dutch tax money spent for the benefit of the Dutch.
